We all experience many different thoughts and feelings everyday. Some are good because they help us. Anxiety is one that can be good, but too many anxious feelings is unhealthy, especially when they start affecting how you live your life.
Normally, we all feel anxious or nervous about certain times. For instance, students worry before a test and many people get nervous before speaking in front of people. These are a few times where anxiety can help. Students may study harder for the test or people may practice what they want to say so they make more sense. There are many other times that we feel anxious, which helps our body respond in certain ways. The problem is when anxiety truly disables the way one lives their lives. Some of the disorders are when one is affected by panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder or post traumatic stress disorder. These need to be addressed by a doctor and the person needs help to alleviate the problem. They can lead to depression in the patient, which ultimately can lead to suicide without the proper treatment.
If you have been acting differently noticed by yourself, family, or friends, it is time to talk to your doctor. However, there are also things that can be done on your own. Learning how to calm down may help. Dietary changes can alleviate some of the symptoms, as well as adding exercise. Exercise makes you feel good and can naturally get rid of bad feelings. If none of these help or the feelings are getting worse, medication may be needed. However, if your prescription isn't helping, make sure you tell your doctor immediately so he can find the perfect medication for you. You deserve to get the help you need to be the best you can be.
