The Mystery of Suicide

Struggling to understand how someone could take their own life is truly a mystery for society today. In the struggle to understand there are signs that point to depression. Some of these signs are an increase in alcohol and drug use. Some people express a wish to die and get out of all their trouble and others exhibit unusual mood swings.

When you notice such changes in a person, try to talk to them or try getting them to get help. Mental disorders such as depression play a major role in suicides. Usually a major life change can trigger symptoms of depression such as death of a spouse or family member.
With researchers investigating the mental process of the human mind, they hope to reduce the number of suicides in this country. But still families and friends are left to pick up the pieces of their lives not really understanding what went wrong in their loved one's life.

Suicide does not discriminate, it is common among the rich as well as the middle class and poor. Research has found that females attempt suicide three times as much as males but males because they employ more violent means of suicide are four times more likely to die.
Suicide will perhaps remain a mystery to those closest to the person. Because of the person's success at committing suicide the family is left to deal with feelings of guilt and despair. The harsh reality of suicide in today's society still remains a mystery even with all the strides in research.
