Bipolar disorder is when one half of your brain is not in synch with the other. Two very common disorder in young women are anorexia and bulimia. They see themselves as overweight when they are not. Separation anxiety occurs when everyone is gone and the person with the mental illness is left at home alone. This occurs quite often in dogs and cats. When some dogs are left at home alone, they will chew up the furniture or the carpet or any other thing.
Self inflicted injury occurs when someone is overwhelmed by their problems. They will take a knife or a razor and cut themselves on the arms or legs. If this is not caught and she continues to cut herself, then it can become very rough and lead to suicide.
