Many people don't realize how vital their mental well being really is.

It is important to know what you are feeling when you are feeling it. This gives you a chance to combat it, and no one knows you better then you do. Everyone has a bout with depression at one time or another. Maybe you lose a loved one and you are down; this is a natural response. The unnatural response is to let it get you down for a year or more.

Some people can handle the big things, but it is the little things that get them down. So, make sure when you feel the depression start to hit you to step back and take a look at it to see if it is worth worrying about. Go for a walk or exercise; these are very good things to do to relieve stress. You should have a friend to confide in so you don't feel so alone. Under no circumstance do you want to drink any kind of alcohol, because all it does is enhance the depression. You may want to try to do something else if you find that something is making you upset. Come back to it after you have calmed down. You can be in control of your mental health.
